DDAP Sigil Rules

Effective Date: November 3, 2026 · Version 2026-11-03

A DDAP Sigil is the pseudonymous player identity shared by our games that have online features: leaderboards, Daily Challenges, friends and progress that follows you between devices. These are the rules for having one. They are short because a Sigil is small: it holds no name, email address or password, and it exists only so that your results and your friends can be yours in every one of our games. These Rules are part of our Terms of Service. If they ever disagree, the Privacy Policy controls on how we handle your data, these Rules control on conduct, gamertags and moderation, and the Terms control on everything else.

In Short

Be at least 13. Keep one Sigil. Pick a gamertag you would not mind a child reading. Play fair. Report trouble instead of answering it. Link a second device before you lose the first.

1. Who May Have One

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to create a Sigil or use any online feature in our games. Every game can be played without a Sigil, and the games are built so that nothing online is required to play. If we learn that a Sigil belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.

2. One Sigil Per Player

Have one Sigil and link all of your devices to it (Settings → DDAP Sigil → Link a Device in any game). A second Sigil is not a second chance on the leaderboards; it splits your own results, and if we find Sigils being used to pile up Daily Challenge entries or crowd a board we may remove the extras. If you ended up with two by accident, email info@deepdarkabyss.com and we will help you keep the one you want.

3. Your Gamertag

Your gamertag is the only thing about you that other players see, in every game at once, next to your glyph and your scores. It is 3 to 20 characters and does not have to be unique: the glyph beside it is what tells two players with the same name apart. A gamertag may not be obscene, hateful, or sexual; may not target a person or group; may not impersonate another player, a real person, or us (no “DDAP”, “Admin”, “Moderator” and the like); and may not contain contact details, links or advertising. Spelling tricks and look-alike characters count as the word they are standing in for. We may change a gamertag that breaks these rules without asking first; you can change it again, within the rules, at any time.

4. Fair Play

Scores on our leaderboards come from playing the game. Do not alter the app, feed it results it did not produce, exploit a bug to post a score, or use anything that plays for you. Daily Challenges are one attempt per player per day, in the game, on the day. A result we believe was not earned is removed, and a Sigil used to cheat is suspended.

5. Other Players

Friends are mutual and made only by exchanging friend codes. There is no messaging and no search by name, so most of the ways people get hurt online are simply not here. What remains is the gamertag, and so the rule is simple: do not use yours to harass, threaten or demean anyone, and do not use friend requests to pester someone who has not accepted one. Blocking a player hides them from you, hides you from them, and stops their requests, in every game.

6. Reporting

In every game you can report a player from the leaderboard or friends list (tap and hold their row, or use the ⋯ button beside it) for an offensive gamertag, impersonation, cheating or another reason, with a short note if you like, and block them at the same time. A person reads every report; nothing is decided by a machine. We may dismiss the report, change the gamertag, or suspend the Sigil. We do not tell the reported player who reported them, and we do not reply to reports individually. Knowingly false, abusive or deliberately repeated reports count against the reporter; several honest reports about the same player are fine.

7. Suspension and Removal

A Sigil that is used to cheat or to harass other players may be suspended. A suspended Sigil cannot use online features in any of our games; the games still play offline, and the owner can still delete the Sigil. We suspend rarely and for cause, and we do not have to warn first. If you think a suspension or a gamertag change was a mistake, email info@deepdarkabyss.com with your gamertag and a game you play. A person reviews every such request and replies with the decision.

8. Keeping It

Your Sigil lives on your devices. There is no password to reset and no email to recover it with, which is what keeps it private; it also means that if every device that holds it is lost, reset, or the games are uninstalled from all of them, the Sigil cannot be recovered. It is then deleted automatically once it has gone unused for 12 months (or sooner for a Sigil used only around the time it was made, as the Privacy Policy explains in section 11), and its results disappear from every leaderboard. Until then, its results stay on the leaderboards under a name nobody can change. Link a second device as soon as you have one you care about. The link code is shown in Settings → DDAP Sigil and is good for a few minutes; treat it like a key, because anyone who enters it becomes you.

9. Deleting It

You can delete your Sigil from inside any game (Settings → DDAP Sigil → Delete My Sigil), immediately and permanently, together with every result held for you by every one of our games; its results disappear from every leaderboard. Without the app on hand, you can ask us by email; the Privacy Policy says how we confirm the Sigil is yours. The Privacy Policy (section 12) says exactly what is removed, how to ask, and how long backup copies last.

10. The Service

DDAP Sigil is provided as part of our games, free of charge and as is. We intend to keep it running for as long as we run games that use it, and we may change how it works. If we ever have to retire it, we will say so on this site and in the games at least 60 days ahead, and the games will go on playing offline. We make no promise that leaderboards, results or friendships will be preserved forever, and, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a Sigil that is lost because no linked device remained.

11. Changes to These Rules

When the rules change we post the new version here with a new effective date, and it applies from that date. When a change is material, we announce it here and, where we can, in the games before it takes effect.

Thank You

A Sigil asks nothing of you but a name and good manners. Thank you for giving it both.
