Shīwù (失误, Chinese for "mistake") is a neon arcade game in two modes: the classic snake, reborn as a ribbon of light, and an arena where trail fights trail and the last one standing wins.
Easy to learn, hard to master, and every run ends the same way: with one mistake.
Two Ways to Make a Mistake
Classic: The Neon Snake
Steer a trail of light, eat pellets, grow longer, and go faster every level. Gold pellets are worth three times as much, but they fade fast. Hit the wall or your own trail and it's over.
Five Power-Ups
They appear several at a time, so go after the one you need: Overdrive (faster, double points), Slow, Ghost (pass through your own tail), Magnet (pulls pellets in) and Trim (cuts your tail in half).
Arena: Trail Against Trail
You against up to four rivals, each leaving a wall of light behind it. Make a rival crash into your trail to score; be the last trail standing to clear the round. Drifters wander, Patrollers hold their ground, and Hunters come after your space.
Today's High Scores
A fresh board every day: every run you play counts, and it resets at midnight. Climb today's board even when the all-time records are out of reach.
Leaderboards and Friends
Classic and Arena, today and all-time, for your friends or for everyone. Add friends by code or QR; they show up in every Deep Dark Abyss game. Leaderboards are optional; the game plays fully offline without them.
A Synthwave Soundtrack
Original music for the menus, Classic and Arena, and a full set of arcade sound effects. Swipe or tap to turn, or use arrow keys and WASD with a keyboard. Tablets get a bigger arena, in any orientation.

Your progress is stored on your device. Leaderboards and friends are optional and use an anonymous DDAP Sigil: a random ID, the gamertag you choose, and your game results. No name, email, phone number or location is collected. Data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to track you, and you can delete your Sigil and all of its data from inside the app at any time. Read the full privacy policy.
Join the Shīwù Beta
Shīwù is in private beta for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. Testing is by invitation: tap Request Beta Access below and fill in the short form in the email: your device, operating system and version, and the Apple ID or Google account you use with the App Store or Google Play. Test invitations are tied to that account, so please use the one on your device.
